'My best school experiences were at Carmel New Church School. The maximum class size I was in was ten per classroom and there were 5 people (including myself) in my grade. I’m shy so it was very beneficial for me to be in smaller class sizes. I was very well prepared when I moved from elementary school to high school. Thanks to my education at Carmel New Church School I graduated with honours from high school and received several awards for my high grades throughout my time there. I graduated with honours from Cambrian College and Conestoga College as well. I started off my career working for the City of Kitchener and now I am a supervisor for the Region of Waterloo - Waterloo Region Housing department. I made lifelong friends during my time at Carmel; I met my best friend there as well as my spouse. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the education and experiences I had at Carmel New Church and School. 'My son loves his school. When he wakes up Saturday morning he is so disappointed that school is not open on weekends. He loves the outdoor discovery time, and the engaging creative activities they get to do. The campus is beautiful and his class is surrounded by big windows where he can see the green lush forest surrounding the school. Learning is very hands-on here and the kids get to learn a lot using all their senses. He has become so observant of his surroundings now. He loves that it is a smaller class where he can learn so much about each of his classmates and create deep bonds. I attended the Carmel New Church School from Junior Kindergarten through tenth grade and returned in my final year of high school (2003-2015) as a temporary teacher's assistant for a co-op learning program (2017).

The teachers have the students best interest at heart and work tirelessly to meet each student where they are. One of the most important things Carmel New Church School gave to my education was a safe space to learn about, worship and revere God. Growing up this school gave me a place I felt free to ask questions not only about basic education subjects but religion as well.

After high school I went on to attend Bryn Athyn College to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. This allowed me to return to Carmel New Church School this time as a Kindergarten teacher (2021-2022). I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to give back to my community and school. The staff were wonderful to work with and very supportive to ensure that students got everything they needed to be successful. 'Moving our children here from the public board is the best decision we ever made. The small classes allow the teachers to really get to know your kids and also allows the class to move at an advanced pace. Everything at CNCS is next level from computers and science to art projects and everything in between. What’s more important though, is the fact that my children feel genuinely loved, cared for, seen and heard by the teachers and staff. The community is very welcoming and we have made the most amazing friends here. The children speak daily about the Lord and the discussions help them to apply the teachings to their everyday life. She benefited greatly from a Duel Grade classroom where she was given the space to adjust and grow into the grade that suited her best.
